Getting to school

Bicycles may be ridden to school by students over 10 years of age and helmets must be worn.  Bicycles are left in the racks provided and no student may go near them during the day.  Bicycle safety lessons form part of the PD, Health and PE Syllabus.  Bikes are walked in the playground.

Busabout provides the service for children catching a bus to school. To be eligible for school bus travel at government expense, students must live more than 1.6 km from the school.  The distance of 1.6 km is to be measured by the shortest practicable walking route from the nearest access gate of the school.

K-2 students within the 1.6 km distance are eligible for free travel.  All enquiries regarding bus travel should be made to the local manager of Busabout at the depot in Lucan Street or on 02 6386 2716.  Parents who convey their children more than 1.6 km from their house to the nearest bus pick-up point can apply for a private vehicle conveyance subsidy which is paid by the government to offset the costs involved.  Applications can be completed online.  You can contact the school for further details.  A number of students walk to and from school.  Students exit from Albury Street, Derby Street and Ward Street and are escorted by a teacher to ensure the safest possible exit.
